Dr Opperman is one of those fortunate people who regards his job as his life purpose and hobby. He strongly believes that therapies are complementary and that it is essential to constantly research and investigate the latest psycho-therapeutic trends and movements so that his clients are provided with the most appropriate and efficient modalities available, as well as life changing experiences.

His firm belief is that we all re-create re-enact subconscious life patterns which are formed in childhood and beyond. During critical incidents (e.g. father abusing mother) we form sub-conscious conclusions (e.g. "I am unable to protect my mother from my father, and I am therefore unworthy.") and make sub-conscious decisions (e.g. "I should, therefore, punish myself for my unworthiness."). This becomes the sub-conscious life pattern which we keep on re-enacting, resulting in us forming relationships--unwittingly--that manifest the pattern.

Dr Opperman was qualified as a psychologist after having done his masters degree at the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and continued his studies with further masters courses at the University of Pretoria (UP) and completed his doctorate in Psychology the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Dr Opperman has wide experience in psycho-therapeutic techniques and has perfected his skills whilst in private practice and whilst working at a variety of organizations. He is widely recognized as a radio and television guest psychologist, as well as having authored and consulted on numerous magazine and newspaper articles. He's taken part in TV shows like Carte Blanche, Special Assigmnent, Big Brother, Moose's Place, etc.
